Here's what's at stake in Ricciardo's new podium bet with Zak Brown

Daniel Ricciardo has also made a podium bet with his new team boss, Zak Brown. If the Australian manages to bring the papaya-coloured McLaren to the podium he will be rewarded by Brown, but not with a tattoo this time.

At stake this year is a ride in a showpiece of the private car collection of McLaren CEO Zak Brown. This was announced in the latest McLaren Unboxed video, a shortened version of which appeared on Twitter. The car that Brown is opening up for his driver concerns the Nascar car of Dale Earnhardt Senior, of whom Ricciardo is a big fan.

Ricciardo is clearly impressed with the deal. 'That's awesome', he says several times. The two shake hands and seal the deal. Ricciardo is also handed a scale model of the car in question. This is for motivation', Brown explains.

Given the quality of the 2021 McLaren, it will most likely be a matter of time before the Australian launches himself onto the podium. As in 2020, the American racing outfit appears to be the favourite for third place in the constructors battle.
