Despite the tough times he's ensured since the regulations last changed in 2022, Flavio Briatore believes that Lewis Hamilton will thrive when the technical rulebook suffers it's next overhaul, in 2026.
“With the new cars, you'll see Hamilton will be back in the fight for the podium and victory”
- Flavio Briatore
Speaking on the Radio Rai programme La Politica nel Pallone, the Italian Alpine executive advisor said he believes Hamilton will do remarkably better than he is doing now, with the Briton clearly struggling and, as the season's end fast approaches he is yet to stand on the podium for his new team, although in the race he broke yet another record — one that previously belonged to Michael Schumacher.
“Sooner or later, he’ll solve the problems,” he said. “He’s a very good guy, but Formula 1 is very complicated today, with seven cars within two tenths of a second.
“This year, the only really competitive team is McLaren. Next year everything will change and we’ll be fighting for the podium too. With the new cars, you'll see Hamilton will be back in the fight for the podium and victory.”

Hamilton fires back at Alonso after Singapore feud

Hamilton couldn’t resist having some fun on social media following Fernando Alonso’s latest outburst.
The former Mercedes driver posted a set of clips from the British sitcom One Foot in the Grave on his Instagram Stories, showing the show’s protagonist yelling the iconic line, “I don’t believe it!”
The choice of scene was hardly accidental — a cheeky dig at Alonso’s furious reaction after the Singapore Grand Prix, where the Aston Martin driver exploded in frustration after narrowly missing out on passing Hamilton at the finish, even as the Briton battled brake troubles in the final laps.
Hamilton topped it off with the caption “18 years of...”, a tongue-in-cheek reminder of how long the rivalry has endured since their fiery first season together at McLaren in 2007.
