Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has branded current championship leader Oscar Piastri as "fantastic" in 2025.
The Australian is leading the Formula 1 World Championship for the first time in his career, doing so after winning the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, his third race win of the season, becoming the first Australian to lead the drivers' championship since 2010, which was done by his now manager, Mark Webber.
It's been an impressive start to the 2025 campaign for Piastri, winning four out of the first seven races of the season in just his third year in F1. His consistent performances in qualifying have then been converted on Sundays with his superb racecraft taking him to victories.

No advice needed for Piastri, says Hamilton

Hamilton knows all too well what it's like to be in the McLaren driver's position, with the Brit seriously impressed by the Australian's performances so far in 2025.
"I don't know him a huge amount. We sometimes talk a little bit on the parades, but he's always been very easy to approach, easy to speak to. He's clearly a nice lad," the 40-year-old said in the paddock at Monaco to several media sources, including GPblog.
"I think the job he's doing is fantastic. It's mega for me to see McLaren doing so well, because that's where I started, and also to see them so close, him and Lando, two great drivers, the pressure on both of them will be unimaginable, I would say, for most people that are not experiencing it, and who have not experienced it.
"We've seen both, and obviously, particularly Oscar, doing a great, great job weekend in, weekend out, delivering, qualifying, and everything you need to do to win a World Championship. So I don't have any advice. Just keep doing what you’re doing, and it seems to be working," concluded Hamilton
