Lewis Hamilton is hoping the "natural progression" he is starting to see at Ferrari will help turn around what has been a difficult start to their season, 'trying new ideas' to extract as much as possible for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.
The start of the 2025 season for the Scuderia has been challenging. The team achieved only one podium from the first seven races of the season, sitting way off the pace of McLaren at the top of the constructors' standings.
Hamilton's start at Ferrari since moving to the Italian team from Mercedes for this campaign has not been as fruitful as he would have wished, with no finish above P5 coming for the seven-time world champion before the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
However, around Imola, the Brit made a fine recovery from P12 on the grid, giving the Tifosi something to cheer about as he cut through the field to take P4, giving himself and his team something to build on coming into Monaco.

Hamilton sees 'lots of positives' for Monaco

With the best result of the season so far, the work coming into the race weekend in the principality has been massive.
"I was in the simulator on Monday, I was there nice and early. It’s really incredible to see, probably without realising, but the engineers and mechanics, it does not stop," Hamilton explained to several media sources, including GPblog, in the paddock at Monaco.
"They go straight from the track, they go home on a Sunday night, and they're in the factory the next day. It just does not stop; they're churning through the data. There are lots of positives, as I said, as we begin to take them in. But there are still areas that we need to improve on," the 40-year-old continued.
Monaco brings about one of the more challenging weekends for the drivers, with qualifying holding extra weight due to the overtaking difficulties around the streets, which is something Hamilton and Ferrari have struggled with in 2025.
"Clearly, our qualifying has been a weak point so far this year," said the Brit. "We're not extracting the performance from the tyres, and that's something we are working on. I've had some ideas, the team has some ideas, and so we will try those this weekend.
"It's not the best place to try those things, but we will try to make a step. Qualifying, as you know, it's everything here. Between us, it's a natural progression in the year. We're feeling more at home within the team. Things work differently here. They’ve never had anyone like me here.
"It's been challenging on both sides. But we're really finding harmony, I think, in the way that we're moving forward. I hope that starts to reflect on the rest of the season," concluded Hamilton.
