Lewis Hamilton has revealed that production is already underway for a sequel to F1: The Movie after its stunning success.
"We’re going to take our time and make sure we get it just the way it needs to be."

F1: The Movie, starring Hollywood celebrity Brad Pitt, was released in the UK on June 25 and received critical acclaim, grossing over $630 million at the box office.
Now, after producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that a second movie would be made, Hamilton stated that script-writing has already begun, with the Brit also involved in production meetings as he looks set to reprise his role as a producer.
"Yes, we are already working on the first script. We had our first meeting, maybe mid to late second part of the end of the year," Hamilton said to GPblog and others during Thursday's press conference.

"It’s really exciting. Now I’ve been through it, and it was already very intense the first time, I know what to expect, and I know what we could do better.
"I’m still getting texts from people who are only just watching the movie and how it’s opened their eyes up to what this sport is about, and it’s sent them down a rabbit hole trying to understand it more."
"The second one for me… sequels often aren’t always great. We’ve got a great team, got a great cast, great writer, so I’m not concerned about that, but we’re going to take our time and make sure we get it just the way it needs to be."

Hamilton to be on camera?

After the stunning success of F1: The Movie, which grossed over $630m worldwide, talks about a second movie started early in November.
Now, after multiple Academy Award nominations and a win at the BAFTA Awards, Hamilton is once again involved as production for a second movie is underway.
But for Hamilton, a role in front of the camera may not be on his mind.

"I don’t really have a lot of desire to be on camera. I’ve had loads of opportunities to be in movies. I really like the idea of being in the background. It was an amazing experience, and it’s so much more enjoyable than actually being on camera," the 41-year-old stated.
"I’ve had a couple of really cool experiences, like doing Cars 2 and getting to do voiceovers, which was fun, but I’m planning on producing lots of different TV shows, documentaries and movies.
"I have a lot in the pipeline, so I’ll probably be focused on that rather than actually being on camera."
