Gasly feels that Formula 1 should think about adding in a spotting system

Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly feels that Formula 1 should think about adding in a spotting system, as used in IndyCar. This would help to stop drivers from coming back to the track at the wrong time after an accident.

This comes after at the Italian Grand Prix Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel tried to return to the track quickly after the Ascari Chicane. He caused problems to Lance Stroll and Gasly in this instance, both having to divert and take evasive action.

Gasly admitted that it's very difficult for drivers to turn their heads due to the HANS system.

"Even the shape of the F1 car and the HANS system [neck protection, ed.] it is very difficult to turn your head", he told GP Update.net.

In IndyCar, they use spotters to help the drivers out and minimise the risk of problems between cars.
