Fittipaldi can hardly believe Verstappen's performance: 'Did you see that?

Fittipaldi Jr. already talked about which driver he supported when he was small. He first mentioned Lewis Hamilton, during his dominant years with Mercedes. Later, the son of the two-time world champion decided to support another driver. The Brazilian stated that he switched between Hamilton and Verstappen for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021, because he wanted the Dutchman to become world champion.

In a conversation with the Brazilian branch of Motorsport.com, Fittipaldi Jr. said: “Now it's cool to see Max as, for me, he is the best driver in F1. I think he's the most complete. You can put him in any car, in any category, and he'll always go very fast. You see what he did in Nürburgring?”

Fittipaldi Jr. enthusiastically discussed the famous test of Verstappen on the German circuit, where he went undercover as ‘Franz Hermann’. The Red Bull Racing driver drove in a Ferrari 296 GT3. During the test, the Dutchman set the lap record for the race class in which he was driving.

Fittipaldi Jr. was impressed by the fact that Verstappen had never driven on the Nürburgring. However, he stated that the Dutchman has often driven on the Nürburgring on the simulator. This also shows how is important for the new drivers train on the simulator to enhance their qualities.

Fittipaldi Jr. also races in motorsport. This season he participates in the Eurocup-3 Series. Next season, the Brazilian will make the step to Formula 2, where he will drive for the AIX team.
