Franco Colapinto has received his first warning from the
FIA. The Argentine, who replaced
Logan Sargeant at
Williams from this weekend onwards, performed a practice start where it was not allowed.
Lewis Hamilton and
Sergio Perez also had to report to the stewards for other incidents, but all have escaped without a penalty.
First F1 warning for Colapinto
Colapinto made the switch from
Formula 2 ahead of the
Italian Grand Prix. The Argentine has been tasked with finishing the rest of the
F1 season alongside Alex Albon at
Williams. Friday and Saturday went reasonably smoothly for the rookie, but he did receive an official warning for making a practice start where it was not allowed - five metres away from the designated spot.
Hamilton and Perez escape without a penalty
Perez had to report for allegedly disobeying race control instructions at turns four and five, where he shot straight ahead. However, the
Red Bull Racing driver explained that it was not safe to re-enter the track at the mandatory spot and the stewards agreed, so no penalty followed for the Mexican.
Lewis Hamilton and
Kevin Magnussen were also under a magnifying glass in connection with exceeding the maximum lap time between the safety car lines, but as usual, no action was taken here either.
