Ferrari engine not the only problem: ''They built a bad car''

Ferrari is currently having a hard time after the Italian team fell heavily during the Belgian Grand Prix. The question now is what will the performance be like at Monza? Will we see an improvement or will it only get worse?
After the FIA made a new statement about the engine, Ferrari dropped further and further back. In 2019, the team slowly dropped out, but by 2020 the situation has only got worse. It cannot be just the engine, it seems. Before Ferrari came up with the mega fast engine, it already had a competitive car.

Ferrari is in big trouble

''The car cannot be the only problem. They just built a bad car. There is no other way to explain the current performance'', says former racing driver and current Formula 1 analyst, Marc Surer, opposite Formel1.de. According to the Swiss, Ferrari has a lot of work to do to restore the current situation.
''You have to strengthen yourself as a team. They need to hire new people. Now it's just some Italians among themselves again'', says Surer about the team that last won the drivers' title in 2007 with Kimi Raikkonen, after a successful period with Michael Schumacher between 2000 and 2004.
