From Lewis Hamilton’s warning against singing “It’s Coming Home” too early at the FIFA World Cup to Max Verstappen’s teammate teasing the Dutchman for missing the 24 Hours of Spa, GPblog recaps the best news of the day!

Hamilton warns against singing "It's coming home"

According to Hamilton, England fans should wait to sing “It’s Coming Home” until the Three Lions cross the finish line at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After the opening group-stage match, in which England national football team defeated Croatia 4–2, the song had already made an appearance, as it serves as the team’s victory song.
Hamilton explained to GPblog, among others, ahead of the tournament: "I don't have a prediction, I don't follow it that much, that close to be honest. I'm more into MotoGP and NFL, but I mean I will tune in every now and then and I will always keep a close eye on what England is doing.
"I just hope we don't sing 'It's Coming Home' too early because that's what we normally do. Sing it once we've got it, not before. It's a great song, but jeez!"

Ferrari tipped to shine in Austria: 'I would expect they remain the fastest car in the corners'

McLaren team boss Andrea Stella believes that Ferrari and Mercedes will also be a force to be reckoned with at the Austrian Grand Prix as well. The Italian highlighted a key area where he expects the Scuderia to be strong once again.
He said to GPblog, among others: "Austria is a slightly different circuit. Like this, here [in Barcelona] the stability and the braking and turning is so essential. There, there's more like straight line braking, and then you go in some corners into low speed. So it's a slightly different circuit compared to here. But I would expect that Ferrari remains the fastest car in the corners. Probably Mercedes over a single lap, the best car overall when the chassis and the power unit are both considered."

Verstappen’s teammate jokes about him missing the 24h of Spa: "Very inconsiderate of you"

Another major 24-hour race is set to take place next weekend. At the iconic Spa-Francorchamps track, the world's leading GT3 teams and drivers will go head-to-head. Max Verstappen's GT3 team will also be in action at the event. The No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo will be driven by Daniel Juncadella, Jules Gounon and Chris Lulham. Verstappen, meanwhile, will be busy taking on the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
Replying to the post of Verstappen sharing his orange helmet for the upcoming Formula 1 weekend, Juncadella wrote: "Nice helmet yes, but very inconsiderate of you to skip the 24h of Spa to go racing in an F1 in circles somewhere around Zeltweg."
