Max Verstappen has increased his lead over Lando Norris in the F1 World Championship. He now has a 57 point lead with five Grands Prix and two sprint races remaining.
Before the Grand Prix weekend in Austin, the gap between Verstappen and Norris was 52 points. The Dutchman extended his lead by 5 points. It started on Saturday, when the Red Bull driver finished first in the sprint race while Norris could only manage third.
Norris qualified on pole for Sunday's race in Texas, but Verstappen started from second place. During the final minutes of qualifying, George Russell crashed his car into the wall, ending the session. Verstappen was working on a flying lap, but he had to abort it.
