Former Formula One driver, Pietro Fittipaldi has officially announced his work as development driver for the Cadillac F1 team, an association that's been ongoing for "the past few months." It’s a privilege to be part of a brand as iconic as Cadillac!
- Pietro FittipaldiHowever, the grandson of F1 and IndyCar legend Emerson Fittipaldi, has been working for the team for several months, as indicated in the Brazilian's post.
"I’m very proud to finally share that I’ve joined @Cadillac_F1!," his post on X read.
The former Haas F1 driver, who ran in the 2020 Sakhir and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix in substitution of injured Romain Grosjean, who's also been a regular name in WEC, then revealed the depth of the work he and Cadillac have been doing to get the car race ready for the first Grand Prix of 2026 in Australia.
"Over past few months, we’ve been working together on the development of the team’s 2026 F1 car through sim testing and full GP simulations.
"It’s a privilege to be part of a brand as iconic as Cadillac!," concluded proudly the Brazilian talent.
Perez is already putting in the laps
Fittipaldi is not alone doing Cadillac's simulator work, though, as star signing Sergio Perez is also
putting in the laps in the sim rig for the American team.
Recently, Cadillac - according to reports -
has signed ousted Audi engine chief Adam Baker, as the team ready themselves for their full fledge works team entry in 2028, with General Motors engines powering their cars.
Tyler Epp, former Miami Grand Prix President,
has also been signed as Global Head of Commercial Strategy for the American team.
