Mick Schumacher comes from an iconic motorsport family, being the son of Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. With rumours of Mick’s return to F1 swirling, Alpine's executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, addressed the rumours of him joining Alpine. Mick Schumacher raced in Formula 1 for the American team, Haas for two years during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. After that he had brief stints as a reserve driver for both Alpine and Mercedes.
Now, Schumacher is very active in World Endurance Racing (WEC) with the Alpine team in that series.

Schumacher to join F1 once again?
At the team principal's press conference on the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, Briatore was asked about the possibility of his return.
Briatore said, “Well, I’m not sure why we’re talking about Schumacher now. We are here in 2025. I don’t understand. What do you want to know?”
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner, then asked, “Are you going to sign Mick Schumacher?”
Briatore retorted, “Yeah. Sure. Everybody said that. I don’t think it’s the question to ask here, now. Next question.”
When prompted with the question again, he dismissed the conversation all together.
“I don’t want to talk about that.”
There have been recent rumours of
Schumacher joining the new Cadillac F1 team that is set to join the grid in 2026.
