Red Bull Racing could be satisfied after the Monaco Grand Prix. Where Max Verstappen took the first place, Sergio Pérez finished in fourth place. Helmut Marko is reasonably content with the performance of the Mexican.

The Red Bull Racing advisor sees that Pérez is doing everything possible to raise his level in recent races, but that it is not always easy for him. Despite this, Marko is confident of a good outcome. "The race pace is there, but where it still falters is in qualifying. That's where we need to see an improvement," he stated in an interview with Formel1.de.

His teammate Max Verstappen did a lot better. The Dutchman was allowed to start the race at the front due to the crash of Charles Leclerc during qualifying and cashed in on that position with a victory. Afterwards, the victory was celebrated during a gala dinner. "We were represented there and Max was there too, of course."

Lead for Red Bull in world championship

Verstappen's victory not only meant that the driver is provisionally on top in the world championship. Red Bull Racing also grabbed first place in the world constructors' championship. However, it is only a small lead for the Austrians.
