Stewards launch first investigation of Azerbaijan Grand Prix after FP1 incident

Valtteri Bottas has been summoned by the FIA stewards after the conclusion of the first free practice session of the weekend.

The Finnish driver is currently being investigated for a yellow flag infringement at the Baku City Circuit. He will have to report to the stewards at 13:50 local time (10:50 BST).

The Cadillac driver finished 22nd in a chaotic FP1 session but still managed to complete a considerable number of laps, with 22 in total.

Mercedes' George Russell was the quickest in FP1. The Briton set a 1:45.3, and finished four tenths ahead of Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen.

However, it was hardly a representative session, as Kimi Antonelli had to stop his car due to a hydraulics issue at Turn 7 midway through FP1, while Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton set their best times on the medium tyres. Read the full report here!
