Norris remains calm with P2: "But it's obvious what is going to happen tomorrow"

After the first two practice sessions in the 2021 Formula 1 season, McLaren continue to look strong ahead of the first Grand Prix of the season. Lando Norris finished second fastest during FP2, but the British driver is confident McLaren remain behind Mercedes and Red Bull Racing

No issues

McLaren didn't record the most laps during the winter testing, but everything ran smoothly. The Woking-based team perhaps had more work than any of their rivals during the winter due to the change in engine supplier. As the first race becomes nearer, Norris again reports no issues.

"No issues [with engine]. Just things that we are trying to work on. Every run we do we try to do something different. We are trying different things and some are better and some aren't," Norris told Sky Sports.

Are McLaren pushing the top two?

"We look quick today, but it's fairly obvious what is going to happen tomorrow. The usual four cars ahead of us. Behind there it seems very close.. today we appear close but that is because we showed a bit more," Norris added.
