As we know Max Verstappen is currently driving at the front of the grid. Together with Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen is one of the best drivers of this year. Verstappen once drove, at the then Toro Rosso, together with the less impressive but well-performing Carlos Sainz. And while Verstappen has been driving with top team Red Bull Racing for years, the older Sainz will only make the step-up to Ferrari next season.

Sainz can explain that difference very well. Above all, he thinks he is much calmer than his father Carlos Sainz senior, and also Verstappen: "I think that is sometimes positive and sometimes negative. For example when I want to fight for something at the beginning of my F1 career. I struggled to raise my voice and make myself noticeable," Sainz told Channel 4.

Stepping out of the shadows

Getting a seat at Ferrari is a way to get yourself noticed, and Sainz admitted that something was brewing around the upcoming change in the Spanish media. Maybe now he can finally make a name for himself, instead of being seen as the son of Carlos Sainz Sr: "I've always had the media look at me as the son of Carlos Sainz. And I have always had, instead of one eye, two eyes that always look at me and see how I went through the junior categories".
