The promoter of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has revealed they will do more to help travelling fans for next year's race in Baku. This comes in the wake of the Europa League final ticket sales, with Chelsea and Arsenal sending tickets back.

Both sides have returned tickets to governing body UEFA ahead of their final on Wednesday because of the amount of travelling to reach Azerbaijan. Most of the Formula 1 teams are based in Britain combined with the lack of direct flights, there have been talks to make it easier getting to the country.

Arif Rahimov the promoter of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has outlined possible ways they are looking at of improving the experience for British based fans.

“Next year, especially if we are back-to-back with any of the races, I will definitely try to organise more charter flights by ourselves and then try to sell them at cost to whoever is interested,” promoter Arif Rahimov told Reuters.

“That’s something we are really looking into, just to make it easy for all the spectators. It’s not something that we’ve done in the past but something I really want to do in the future.”

He also revealed they are looking at a date switch, which could result in a conflict with Euro 2020.

“We’re currently talking about June but there are quite a lot of obstacles in June.

“We have the Euro 2020 with four games on the 13th, 17th and 21st of June and a quarter-final on July 4."
