Earlier today, Kimi Antonelli topped the timing charts in a chaotic final practice session in the Spanish capital, finishing ahead of Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri with a 1:32.797. FP3 was heavily disrupted after Lewis Hamilton’s Turn 22 crash just prior to the halfway point, with marshals and circuit staff needing nearly 40 minutes to repair the barriers before a hectic final 15 minutes of running.

Hamilton could also be in a spot of bother with the stewards, having continued to drive his damaged SF-26 around the Madring for some time before heeding race engineer Carlo Santi’s pleas to stop further down the circuit.

The red flag was back out late on during FP3, this time after a big crash for Haas’s Ollie Bearman. The young Briton spun into a the barrier at La Chicane, with his VF-26 suffering heavy damage. The 21-year-old also faces a nervy wait as to whether his team can get his car repaired in time for Qualifying.

At the Madring, drivers have been tasked with quite the daunting challenge, a semi-street circuit featuring tight, blind corners, close proximity to the walls, and huge elevation changes - including the 24% banked gradient at La Monumental.

As for how the rest of the weekend plays out, we see out Saturday’s action with a crucial Qualifying session, which begins at 15:00 BST (16:00 local time). The Spanish Grand Prix itself will take place on Sunday afternoon at 14:00 BST (15:00 local time).
