It’s not often we see this level of criticism between F1 drivers, but retired 2016 champion Nico Rosberg suggested that Max Verstappen was stubborn on track, saying that no matter how many times the Dutchman made a mistake, he would still approach a situation in the same way.
Verstappen, who is still just 21, had a difficult first half of the season in 2018, crashing almost every weekend before a strong end to the season saw him climb up the points table.
However, on his ‘Beyond Victory’ podcast, Rosberg said: “If you take Verstappen, he is like a ‘narcissist’ like you see it in the dictionary.
“Being extremely narcissistic when you have the talent can be a powerful force, and maybe even the most powerful.”
Do you agree with Rosberg? It’s still clear that Verstappen is not the perfect racer, but who was at the age of 21? Comment your thoughts below!
