Mercedes celebrated in Seoul on Sunday by taking the world title with Stoffel Vandoorne. While Nyck de Vries proved capable of the same last season, the German racing team wins another top prize. For Ian James it was hard to believe, as he revealed in the Mercedes press release.

"What a day and what a journey it's been," stated the Mercedes team boss. "Congratulations to the team, congratulations to Stoffel and congratulations to Nyck. Everyone has played such a vital role in us winning the team title. When the Mercedes-Benz board made the decision to enter Formula E four years ago, we didn't know how it would turn out. Now we are sitting here and have won both World Championship titles for the second time in a row."

It is immediately the last year in Formula E, as next season Mercedes will not be back in the racing class. For James, it was therefore a good end of the period with the team, with which he was very successful.

De Vries less satisfied with season

Nyck de Vries caused a lot of anger with Pascal Wehrlein after the race. An error of judgement by the Dutchman caused both drivers to abandon the race. As a result, De Vries finished ninth in the world championship.
