MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi has given a glowing appraisal of Moto2 race-winner Senna Agius following a visit from the Australian rider to the Italian's famed 'Motor Ranch' in Tavullia, Italy. The 20-year-old Moto2 contender has already got off to a good start in 2026, securing pole position in the opening in Thailand and then claiming
a convincing race win in COTA.
Speaking on a recent
podcast, Agius' manager Chaz Davies recounted the Aussie's visit to The Ranch, as well as "The Doctor's" comments regarding the young rider.
"I understand his talent for what it is and how adaptable he is. As a quick example, I took him last year to the ranch at Valentino’s."
"He’d never been there before. I’ve been there back in the day, and I know Senna’s a quick flat track rider, but he was… the 100 km race starts. He’s leading it."
"And he was in the top few fastest guys during the race. He ended up crashing during that first stint, but that was the strategy. I’m like, ‘Go there and make a splash and let’s see what happens. At least you’re going to turn some heads.’"

"And he did, and he was one of the fastest riders in the race. And Valentino in the evening goes to me at the party, he was like… I won’t share exactly what he said."
"But he was like, ‘Beep. That was super impressive. Beep beep! Senna’s got some skills.’ So, I’ll take it from him."
While Agius is continuing to push for a MotoGP season for 2027 and beyond,
the way the grid is shaping up next year could leave him without many options.
However, if he can continue his form and contend for the Moto2 crown this season, there is every chance that Agius could be bound for a MotoGP ride next year,
in one capacity or another.
