German Grand Prix Moto2 Results: Ortola beats Holgado as Alonso crashes out

The Moto2 race at the German Grand Prix was a tense and tactical chess match between several MotoGP hopefuls.
Pole-sitter Ivan Ortola took the holeshot and let the majority of the race with MotoGP prospects Dani Holgado and Izan Guevara behind. In the end, it was Ortola and Holgado who were left to battle for the win, with Ortola enduring immense pressure towards the end of the race.
Nonetheless, he managed to hold off Holgado for a very professional and mature victory, while Guevara was left to round out the podium in front of Senna Agius and Manuel Gonzalez.
David Alonso crashed out of the top five on Lap 18 and will be very disappointed not to score points. Indonesia's Mario Aji was the only other crasher of the session.
