Marc Marquez has given his thoughts on the rise and future of Pedro Acosta, who many believe will join him as a Ducati teammate next year.
In a recent interview with Onda Cero, Marquez reaffirmed the fact that the toughest challenge of his career has already been completed, but also cast a view towards future seasons and 'eras' in the sport.
After his title-winning comeback in 2025, many have been wondering how long Marquez will continue into the future. So far, he hasn't agreed or confirmed any long-term deal with his current employer Ducati.
This has led to speculation that this may be the final season in MotoGP for one of it's all-time greats, and victory in the championship this year put Marquez equal with Agostini as the record holder.
"People can’t imagine how at peace I am with myself." He said, "I carry on with the same ambition, with the same desire, and whatever comes will be welcome. But I didn’t want to retire, and they said that after the injury I would never win again... Instead, I won again."

When asked about the current season in MotoGP and his potential challengers such as Acosta, Marquez had the following to say:
"I understand the fascination. Acosta is the leader of the younger generation. He’s special... But a rivalry truly forms when you reach the final races and fight for a title. I hope to compete with Pedro Acosta for many more races, because he’s the benchmark of the younger generation and will be one of the riders who define a MotoGP era."
This comes after the world champion had already previously downplayed Acosta as a rival, stating that he had won the title in his first season, and therefore pouring water on the comparison after the heated duel in Thailand.
