KTM's Tech3 outfit had a difficult start to the 2026 season Thailand, but the team seem to have identified a key performance issue ahead of the second round in Goiania, Brazil later this month.
The team, which is co-owned by former F1 principal
Guenther Steiner, is a satellite KTM team, but their experienced duo of Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini were nowhere to be seen on Sunday while Acosta and Binder
finished at the front-end of the field.
Steiner's first race in charge of the KTM team was labelled a 'laborious spectacle' and a 'clear disapppointment' by team managed Nicholas Goyon, however there was still some cause for optimism at the conclusion of the weekend.
While Vinales was plagued with issues and could be seen running wide at various turns, ultimately finishing in P16, Bastianini had slightly better fortunes with a point-scoring finish of P12.

According to a report from Crash.com,
Bastianini identified a 'mysterious shaking' issue with the front-end of the bike.
"The race has been complicated because the movements on the straight were difficult to manage, and sometimes when we put fifth gear the bike was very shaking," the former Ducati rider explained after the Thai GP.
"That problem has been happening since yesterday and we cannot explain that. But that problem aside, I think we have improved a little bit compared to yesterday's race, but not too much, to be honest."
The team will be hoping for these improvements to show themselves in Goiania, which is an unknown track for all MotoGP teams at this stage.
Last year, the team managed to be competitive at several points throughout the season. Bastianini grabbed a sprint podium in Hungary and one in the main race at Catalunya, while Vinales finished 2nd in the
Qatar Grand Prix before a tyre-pressure penalty relegated him further down the order.
