'Ducati rider set to replace MotoGP supertalent in factory seat'

The brother of Marc Marquez finished second in the riders' standings in 2025, winning three Grands Prix during the campaign.

The rider currently competes for the Ducati satellite team Gresini Racing. According to Motorsport.com, the Spanish rider is looking to secure a factory seat and is reportedly close to signing with KTM from the 2027 season onwards to race alongside Maverick Vinales, who would join from KTM Tech3.

A possibility to move up to Ducati to race alongside his brother once again is out of the picture after previous reports of Pedro Acosta joining the Italians. That would leave a seat at KTM open, which, similarly to Marquez, is also sponsored by Red Bull.

Yamaha was also mentioned as a possibility for the Spaniard. The Japanese brand is reportedly on course to sign Jorge Martin from Aprilia to replace the outgoing Fabio Quartararo.

Speaking to DAZN, the rider explained that he will have clarity on his next step soon.

He explained: "Every rider dreams of being in a factory team with a factory bike."

Marquez added that continuing with Gresini Racing is also on the table, and he is emotionally close to the team, but he will ultimately decide based on what is best for his career.

When asked whether he would be among that 50% of riders, he answered with a smile: "Yes."
