Fernando Alonso is pushing for a third world championship towards the end of his career, but 2025 has been a frustrating season. The Spaniard hasn't won a Grand Prix since Spain in 2013 for Ferrari.
Next season, he will collaborate for the first time with legendary designer Adrian Newey as F1 brings in an overhaul of the regulations.
Alonso's career has been highlighted by a flurry of agitated radio messages at times since he won his second championship in 2006.
Former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer feels Newey's presence within the team may be able to push Alonso away from the radio outbursts at
Aston Martin.
He said on the F1 Nation podcast: "How long have they waited to work together as well?
"The mutual respect there is through the roof, so I don’t know if we’ll necessarily get the same team radio messages coming back when there’s an Adrian Newey-built car that’s on the other end of it and a whole team galvanised to try and get back towards the front end." Read more here.
Max Verstappen has had a battle with an inferior Red Bull this season as McLaren has developed the quickest car in the field.
The four-time world champion has been linked to Mercedes while neither of the German team's drivers, George Russell or Andrea Kimi Antonelli have been signed up for 2026.
Verstappen has become the benchmark at Red Bull and has swept aside a number of teammates in recent years.
