Juan Pablo Montoya wonders if Helmut Marko will soon join the list of departed top personnel from Red Bull, with the former driver stating that Max Verstappen's impending decision could play a significant role in this.
GPblog previously reported that Verstappen will make a decision about his plans for 2026 before the summer break. The Dutchman is frequently linked with a move to Mercedes, and the rumours have not subsided following the announcement of Christian Horner's dismissal after 20 years at the helm of the Austrian team.
The situation within Red Bull still raises more questions than answers, and everyone is left wondering what exactly happened at the Red Bull Racing headquarters after the British Grand Prix.
Montoya is equally curious about the events in Milton Keynes: "The most complicated thing about this is that we will never know what happened," said the former driver in the MontoyAS podcast.

Is Helmut Marko also leaving Red Bull?

Asked whether only Verstappen will feel the impact of the dismissal, or if Tsunoda will also notice a difference, Montoya said: "No. Because the one who makes decisions about the drivers is Helmut. The question is whether Helmut stays or retires."
Red Bull have already seen hugely important figures leave their top team over the past two seasons, with Adrian Newey and Jonathan Wheatley being the major losses.
"I think if Max were to leave, Helmut would also leave. Helmut does not need to work; he does it because he enjoys it," continued the Colombian, emphasising that Marko's future plans might be closely intertwined with those of Verstappen.
"If that happens and you take Helmut away, Red Bull has to start from scratch. Sometimes it's easier to build a team from scratch rather than try to assemble it like a LEGO set that then falls apart halfway through," the 49-year-old concluded.
