After a successful career in motorsport, including a Formula 1 stint, Stefan Johansson has transitioned into driver management. One of the talents under his guidance is IndyCar veteran Scott Dixon. According to the Swede, the New Zealander shares notable similarities with Max Verstappen. Johansson doesn't tell his drivers how to race, but focuses mainly on building confidence.
"It took me years to gain that in motorsport. That's also the difference with drivers like Max Verstappen and Ayrton Senna: they know what they want and don't stop until they get it," he says in Formula 1.

According to Stefan Johansson, a top driver needs to be "a bit annoying" to their team, constantly pushing boundaries and demanding more.
If that approach translates into strong performances on track, the team will ultimately embrace and support the driver, the Swede believes.
'Verstappen has an enormous amount of talent'
At
Red Bull Racing, this is the case, according to Johansson.
"Max has an insane amount of pure talent. He's an absolute acrobat in the car and perhaps the best driver ever. He's such a driver who makes a difference on a day when he maybe shouldn't win, but somehow manages to do so."The former driver draws a comparison with Scott Dixon, noting that the New Zealander consistently extracts the maximum from his car, often managing to reach the podium even on days when everything appears to be going against him. "Not because he's always the fastest, but simply because he makes the fewest mistakes."
Dixon has won 59 IndyCar races since 2003. The IndyCar veteran has won six titles since his debut, and has won a race in the top American series in every year he has competed.
