Red Bull Racing plans to unveil the RB17 to the general public before the end of this year, Christian Horner confirmed during an interview with Sky Sports. No, the RB17 is not a Formula 1 car but the Austrian racing stable's first sports car.

No RB17 in Formula 1

Red Bull drove an 'RB16B' in 2021 in the premier class of motorsport and not an RB17. The RB17 was skipped because the 2020 and 2021 cars were almost identical. Virtually nothing was changed to the regulations between those seasons because of the corona crisis and the associated cost savings that were needed.
Yet work did take place on an RB17. So the sports car - not to be used on normal motorways - will still be unveiled in 2024. When the plans were announced, Red Bull stated that around 50 would be produced. Top designer Adrian Newey is chiefly responsible for the design and development. The price tag? Around £5 million (around €5.8 million).
There is seating for two in the RB17. The bolide features a closed cockpit and the estimated engine power is around 1,250 hp.
