Honda was attacked by a virus on Tuesday. This time it wasn't the coronavirus that struck, but a ransomware called Ekans. The Japanese engine manufacturer has worked hard to counter this and now has good news.
''We lost the connection to our computers online and many employees were unable to do their jobs," Honda said in a statement by The Detroid Bureau. It was a ransomware attack, in which hackers 'hold' information hostage to a company in order to get a financial return.

On Wednesday morning, however, Racefans.net comes with good news. ''The major cyber attack on Honda has shut down a lot of activities in several factories, but it hasn't had a big impact on the Formula 1 project''.
Where previously damage was feared for the Honda Formula 1 project and therefore also for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, this is not the case now. Honda seems to have things back in order and F1 has never been the target of the ransomware attack.
