Max Verstappen was the fastest driver in Bahrain all weekend, but at the most critical moment the Red Bull Racing driver was trumped by Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion crossed the line first after a tense final stage. Valtteri Bottas took the final podium spot, well behind the two leaders.

Sergio Perez had a difficult start, as he had to start from the pit lane. The Mexican managed to work his way up to fifth place. For McLaren it was a good Sunday in Bahrain, because the racers from Woking finished fourth and seventh. Yuki Tsunoda makes his debut in Formula 1 with a ninth place.
