During the first day of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Mercedes and McLaren have been closely monitoring the flexi-wings of the competition. According to studies by these two teams, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari stay in the 'red zone' with their rear wing when the DRS is closed.
That's what Auto, Motor und Sport Friday evening. The same German medium also states that Mercedes and McLaren are not yet sure whether they will protest. Helmut Marko once again let it be known that he is not afraid of Toto Wolff and Andreas Seidl: "We are prepared for anything."

Alpine and Alfa Romeo escape the dance

Besides Red Bull and Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Alpine are also driving with flexi-wings, but Mercedes and McLaren don't find that interesting and so they don't concern themselves with that. They just focus on the direct competition.
The FIA is going to perform stricter checks in France, so then there will be more clarity on what is and what is not allowed in terms of flexi-wings in Formula 1.
