Oscar Piastri topped an exciting FP2 session at the Singapore Grand Prix with two red flags and a pit lane incident. Max Verstappen set the third-fastest time in his RB21,
equipped with a new front wing update, finishing behind championship leader Piastri and Isack Hadjar.
After topping FP1, Alonso finished fourth ahead of
Lando Norris and his teammate, Lance Stroll.
Ferrari drivers
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finished ninth and tenth, respectively, but the Briton made a mistake on his final flying lap.
As it happened
It was Nico Hulkenberg who first went out on track in FP2. He was first followed by the two
McLaren drivers, and then by the rest of the grid. To begin with, every team ran on the mediums, except for the Aston Martin.
After the first 15 minutes, Norris led the session with a 1:32.2 ahead of the two Spanish drivers, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz.

Drivers continued to set fast laps on the mediums moments later. Piastri took the lead from his teammate improving to a 1:31.7. Norris also improved, but he was 0.007 seconds behind. Hamilton moved up to third place.
18 minutes into the session, Russell crashed into the wall after he lost control over the back end of his Mercedes into Turn 16. "That was weird," he commented over the team radio.
The Brit could bring his Mercedes back into the pit lane, but the debris left behind caused the first red flag of the session.
The session resumed with 30 minutes to go. Hamilton briefly took the lead on the mediums, but Esteban Ocon was even quicker on the softs.
Minutes later, the red flag was waved for the second time. Liam Lawson hit the wall in the penultimate corner and came to a stop at the pit-lane exit.
After the session resumed, Norris and Leclerc collided in the pit lane. Leclerc will be investigated for an unsafe release.
FP2 concluded with drivers setting fast laps on soft tyres. Hamilton and Franco Colapinto came close to hitting the wall in the closing moments, while Oliver Bearman also had issues in the final chicane, but no cars were damaged.
