The second practice session of the Las Vegas Grand Prix was interrupted by a red flag with over 20 minutes left on the clock.
The session, which had a fair share of rain briefly before its commencement, was halted shortly after Lando Norris took to his radio to suggest that a few drops of rain had begun to fall.
While no driver had actually crashed, nor was there any debris on the track, the FIA opted for a red flag due to a possible loose rain cover.

The FIA would however, reveal its decision to throw in a red flag was due to a precautionary reaction to a marshal's report of a possible loose manhole cover before Turn 17.
Prior to the stoppage, Norris topped the timing sheet with a time of 1:33.60, ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc.
