Lando Norris is "over the moon" with what the reigning world champion has hailed as "one of his better drives" after taking victory at the final Dutch GP at Zandvoort for the foreseeable future.
Following a race restart after Max Verstappen's heartbreak Lap 1 crash, the McLaren pole-sitter was overtaken by championship leader Kimi Antonelli early on in the race, but later retook the lead of with a stunning Turn 1 move on the young Italian behind a yet to pit Lewis Hamilton on Lap 54.
A late VSC threatened to turn the grid upside down, with Mercedes' George Russell ordered to let his championship rival Antonelli through on fresher soft tyres and after Norris. The papaya driver held on, however, to take his second win in a row - following a maiden 2026 win at Budapest before the summer break.
Speaking immediately after the race, Norris said: "A tough race. Yesterday I said I need to put on a bit of a show for the last race here.
"I made it tough for myself today but a good race. Well fought. Probably one of my better wins. We had to fight for it.

Addressing that stunning move on Antonelli, the 26-year-old said he knew he probably had one shot at it, taking it with aplomb. Norris said: "The move was good! I knew I wasn't going to get many chances. Every lap I spent behind them, my odds were getting lower.
"I saw Lewis defended and I knew that was my moment. I did a couple clicks of brake balance, I knew I was going to commit to the braking and that move won me the race. Just well played from my part. I knew I had to make it.

Speaking on the prospect of a proper title fight, Norris was eager to temper expectations. "It sounds boring, but one race at a time," he said.
"I know a lot of people say it now but it's the truth of it. There's no point thinking that far ahead. I need to concentrate now on having a nice little break [before Monza].

"Obviously two great weekends but we just need to reset and to learn a much as we can. I think there is still plenty of things we need to do better and can do better if we want to fight for a championship.
"I'm very pleased with the team and how much work with everyone is doing. But it's harder than I would like and I would like a bigger gap!"
