Lewis Hamilton has secured Pole Position for the British GP Sprint Race, giving himself the best possible chance of victory at the 17-lap race on Saturday afternoon.
Hamilton's quickest lap time in SQ3, a 1:28.376, was enough to edge out Kimi Antonelli by 0.011s, with the young Italian ahead of Max Verstappen in P3.
Rounding out the second row in P4 will be Charles Leclerc, while George Russell and Lando Norris make up the top six, respectively.
Norris, suffering from brake duct damage during Sprint Qualifying, escaped an early exit in SQ2, finishing in P10 just 0.081s ahead of Alpine's Pierre Gasly - then came Gabriel Bortoleto, Nico Hulkenberg, Franco Colapinto, Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.

At the back of the grid, Aston Martin's woes continued, with both Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso failing to make it out of SQ1 alongside Cadillac duo Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, as well as Haas pairing Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman.
Speaking immediately after securing Sprint Pole, Hamilton said: “I love this place, I love this crowd, and I can’t express to you how big a dream it is, and still to this day, when you’re building up to this race and you think about every corner and the flow you can get into at this track if you get the setup right and if you’ve got the right team behind you.
“And the car’s felt great today thanks to everyone back at the factory, just continuing to push. We brought tiny little bits here. Every single weekend we’re showing up with something. Everyone’s pushing to the max."
The Ferrari driver concluded: "I’m really grateful to get that pole. I was quick through all the session but still, it was only 10 milliseconds, so it was very close to these guys. The team really deserves it, so a big, big thank you to everyone here."
