Yuki Tsunoda made an excellent debut in Bahrain. With some great overtaking and his first two World Championship points he immediately made his mark. The Japanese driver was obviously happy with his points, but he is not satisfied yet.

Eighth Japanese driver in points

Tsunoda is the 65th driver to score points at his debut and the eighth Japanese driver to score points in Formula 1. The thirteenth started driver fell back a bit at the start, but managed to fight his way back with nice overtaking actions on among others Kimi Raikkonen but especially at the end of the race on Lance Stroll. In the end Tsunoda finished ninth, but he was not overjoyed after the race.
"I'm happy I got points," he told the Official website of the Formula 1. "I lost quite a few positions on the first lap. That was my big mistake and I had to recover from there. I'm fifty percent happy, but still fifty percent it was my big mistake. The first points feel good, but I think there is a lot of room to improve in Imola."

Overtaking Stroll

Tsunoda probably made the biggest impression with his overtaking action on Stroll. "The last three laps I was behind Stroll. I got dirty air and really, really struggled to adapt to that dirty air and made quite a few mistakes. So on the last lap, the first corner, there was still quite a big gap, but I managed to catch him."
