Perez's switch to the Austrian racing team has given him a pay rise of around one million pounds. At Racing Point, the 31-year-old driver was close to three million euros. However, he is nowhere near
Max Verstappen's salary. The aforementioned medium reports that the ten-time Grand Prix winner is paid a fixed amount of over 18 million pounds each year (excluding bonuses).
Verstappen is the number two on the list, behind
Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion renewed his contract with Mercedes last week and will therefore receive £40m in his bank account in 2021. However, it can be assumed that Verstappen earns many more performance-related bonuses. Therefore, the difference in reality is much smaller.
Charles Leclerc and
Daniel Ricciardo share the third spot with salaries of over £10 million each. Perez is number nine on the list.
Carlos Sainz,
Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and
Valtteri Bottas are also ahead of Perez.
Kimi Raikkonen closes out the top-ten.
