Formula 1 heads to Mexico City for the Mexican Grand Prix, where Kimi Antonelli could take the final step towards his maiden World Championship. The Mercedes driver arrives at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez with a genuine match point, following his first mathematical opportunity to seal the title at the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
The Italian youngster is approaching a potentially historic moment in his Formula 1 career. Although the championship mathematics already gave him an opportunity in Texas, Mexico presents another chance to settle the fight for the crown before the season reaches its final rounds.
The Mexican Grand Prix takes place from 30 October to 1 November, with the demanding Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez providing the backdrop for the weekend. Located at an altitude of more than 2,200 metres above sea level, the circuit presents unique challenges for teams, particularly in terms of cooling and aerodynamic performance.
What time is the 2026 Mexican Grand Prix?
As in Austin, Formula 1 will use its traditional weekend format in Mexico, with three practice sessions before Saturday's qualifying and Sunday's race.

The opening session gets underway on Friday, 30 October, at 19:30 CET (18:30 UK time), followed by FP2 at 23:00 CET (22:00 UK time). Teams will use the two sessions to gather data and assess their setups on a circuit where the thin air can significantly affect car performance.
Saturday's action begins with FP3 at 18:30 CET (17:30 UK time), providing one final opportunity to make adjustments before qualifying starts at 22:00 CET (21:00 UK time).

The race itself is scheduled for Sunday, 1 November, at 21:00 CET (20:00 UK time), bringing the weekend to its conclusion after 71 laps around the 4.304-kilometre circuit.
For Antonelli, the stakes extend far beyond another race victory. The Mercedes driver has the chance to turn an outstanding campaign into a championship-winning season, with Mexico City potentially becoming the scene of his greatest achievement yet.
