One after another, more and more rumours are published about
Max Verstappen and his future. This time it is a Spanish newspaper, which is certain that the Dutchman is flirting increasingly with Aston Martin. It seems like a non-sense report, but a German website sees it differently again.
Barely 24 hours ago,
Jos Verstappen published a message on social media for the world to see. There, he responded to a comment made by a Dutch analyst and also dentist, who says he is certain that
Max Verstappen will race for Mercedes in 2026. Verstappen Sr responded that the man in question saying he was 'talking nonsense'.
None of this stopped a Spanish medium from hurling another rumour about the
Red Bull Racing driver into the world.
El Nacional newspaper writes that Verstappen is "
very disappointed" with Red Bull and "
the relationship between the two parties is becoming increasingly distant". According to the newspaper, the trigger was the departure of
Adrian Newey, after which the bond increasingly cracked between Verstappen and Red Bull.
Alonso to be the source of the rumour?
Meanwhile, Verstappen is said to be negotiating increasingly with Aston Martin. This is a rumour that has been going around for weeks and has been debunked by various parties. Nevertheless, according to German website
F1-Insider, the story in
El Nacional should certainly be given value.
Indeed, the site states that '
probably'
Fernando Alonso is one of the Spaniards' sources, who indeed drives for Aston Martin and, according to them, '
thus has good connections'.
