Yuki Tsunoda has thanked Racing Bulls and the team's fans for an "incredible ride" after being announced as a Red Bull driver for the rest of the season.
The Japanese driver is taking over from Liam Lawson, who returns to Racing Bulls in a straight swap after the Kiwi's struggles across the first two race weekends of the season.
It means that Tsunoda is finally awarded for his progression in F1 since his rookie season in 2021, though he faces the same steep learning curve as those before him as he goes up against four-time champion Max Verstappen in equal machinery.

Tsunoda gives "massive thank you"

In his first reaction since official confirmation was given by both teams, Tsunoda posted on Instagram stories: "I want to say a massive thank you to the team and the amazing VCARB fans for such an incredible ride and so many special memories.

"I am staying in the Red Bull family, so I won't be far. I'll see you guys around the paddock."
Tsunoda posted a separate image of himself in Red Bull overalls with the caption: "Ready for the challenge ahead."
He will make his debut for Red Bull in front of his adoring home crowd at Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix.
