Mercedes had a very rough start to the season. Partly due to problems with porpoising, the German formation failed to catch up with Red Bull Racing and Ferrari for quite some time. However, Toto Wolff is confident that Mercedes has now found the line up.
Mercedes' growth is evident in its podium finishes. Since the Canadian Grand Prix, which was scheduled for mid-June, the team managed to have at least one driver finish in the top three almost every race. Only at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit was this not the case.
"It is not that we have found the Holy Grail," Wolff stressed in conversation with Auto, Motor und Sport. "But to a certain extent we understand what we have to do differently with next year's car. The next few months will be crucial in that respect."

By this, the team boss is referring to the upcoming season. The Austrian hopes to fight for the world title again in 2023 and is therefore working hard to reduce the weaknesses of the Mercedes car. Meanwhile, it is also fighting for second place in the constructors' championship. It is 35 points behind Ferrari.
