The Williams team have confirmed they have been struck down by several cases of COVID-19. The FIA earlier reported eight cases had been recorded in the last seven days.
Which team members are involved has not been disclosed due to privacy considerations. The team members received a positive result on their Covid-19 test in the last two weeks, Speedweek.com reported.

Covid-19 guidelines were followed

Williams have maintained that the FIA Covid-19 guidelines have been followed at all times and that the safety of those affected is a top priority. For this reason, some team members who have been in contact with the infected must now go into a period of self-isolation.
During the last 2 weeks, eight positive results have been counted in Formula 1. That is one less than the previous period, but there have also been considerably fewer tests (1781 compared to 4281 the previous period).
