Sebastian Vettel admits he’s not fully comfortable in his Ferrari after completing two practice sessions this morning.
Vettel, by his 2018 standards had a lacklustre performance in FP1 finishing 6th. He was slowest of the ‘top three’ teams.
He improved in FP2 to finish 4th just 0.108 from leader Lewis Hamilton.
But he still claims he still can’t find “the sweet spot” he found in Bahrain last weekend.
“Here is not yet where I want to be,” the German said.
“We are still looking, if anyone has any clever suggestions they are welcome.
“It is difficult to find the sweet spot but if you do then you can unleash the pace.
“I think the car had the pace but we need to make sure we get it to work - in the afternoon I was a bit happier but hopefully tomorrow I am very happy.”
With the top four drivers finishing so close in FP2, qualifying has become that little bit more exciting. However, Vettel believes Ferrari have more to give.
“We had some traffic and could go faster on one lap,” added Kimi Raikkonen.
“On the long run we never really got a good idea of where we are with the conditions.”
