Max Verstappen disagrees with Helmut Marko’s assessment of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend. While the Austrian advisor brushed off the weekend as just an isolated incident, Verstappen believes that view is far too simplistic.
The weekend in Hungary proved disastrous for the Dutchman. After qualifying only eighth, Vertsppen lost further ground during the race, ultimately finishing even lower. It was a major disappointment for the reigning world champion.

When asked about the problems this weekend, Verstappen stated: ‘’We always have ideas, but of course, I can't share them with you.’’ Helmut Marko had described the weekend issues as a one-off, suggesting Red Bull already understood what went wrong. Verstappen, however, wasn’t so sure. ‘’I don't know guys, it's quite easy to say, but we'll look into it.’’

As for the root of the problem, Verstappen said: "This weekend we simply did not have a fast car. That's the problem. I didn't feel good on the tires. I was slipping in all directions. Then you also end up in traffic, but even with new tires, I had no grip in the low-speed sections. Everyone just drove away from me, so I couldn't attack. That made everything very difficult.’
