The current tripleheader across America concludes with the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit. After Kimi Antonelli was crowned champion in Mexico, Mercedes could celebrate another championship this weekend.
Antonelli made history last time out at the Mexico City Grand Prix. After the Mercedes driver finished third behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on Sunday, he mathematically clinched the drivers' championship and became the youngest driver in the history of the competition to win the title.
Now, Mercedes could already have another reason to celebrate at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday, as the German team can also clinch the constructors' championship. Currently, it leads Ferrari by 126 points. If Antonelli and George Russell manage to outscore Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc by three points, the constructors' battle will also be settled.
First the first time, no Sprint in Brazil
Ever since the Sprint was first introduced to Formula 1 in the 2021 season, Interlagos has hosted one every year. That streak comes to an end this year, but the event will return to the Brazilian circuit next season.

On Friday, the weekend begins with two free practice sessions. In FP1, teams will possibly once again give rookie drivers an opportunity to take part, as they did at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Leonardo Fornaroli has already been announced as the driver who will take over Oscar Piastri's car at McLaren.
On Saturday, the weekend continues with the final practice session, before qualifying begins at 18:00 UK time (15:00 local time). Then, on Sunday, the Sao Paulo Grand Prix will begin at 17:00 UK time (14:00 local time) at the Interlagos circuit.
