Charles Leclerc may be absent from Thursday's media day in Brazil. The Ferrari driver is currently in Monaco, where he is awaiting the birth of his first child. Regardless, the Monegasque will not take part in the first free practice session in Sao Paulo.
These are exciting days for Alexandra Saint Mleux and Charles Leclerc. Their first child could be born at any moment, GPblog understands. With the media day of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil scheduled for tomorrow, it remains to be seen whether Leclerc will be able to attend. We will know more in the coming hours.
Beganovic replaces Leclerc in FP1
In any case, Leclerc has a little longer before he has to get behind the wheel of his Ferrari. The Italian team has appointed Dino Beganovic to drive the other SF-26 alongside Lewis Hamilton during the first free practice session of the weekend. This allows Ferrari to fulfil its obligation to give a rookie the opportunity to take part in a free practice session four times a year.
Rafael Camara was originally meant to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari on Friday. However, the Brazilian was appointed by Haas to replace Esteban Ocon, who was dropped by the team. Camara will make his Grand Prix debut with the American outfit and is also guaranteed a race seat there next season.

Beganovic therefore replaces the replacement. This will be the fourth time the Swede, who will be the team's reserve driver next season, has taken part in FP1. Two of those appearances came this season, in Bahrain and Austria.
