Max Verstappen has had a mixed start to the 2019 F1 season but insisted he’s looking forward to the Chinese Grand Prix as he previewed the track and possibilities of overtaking.
Verstappen has started the new season with a podium finish in Melbourne before finishing fourth in Bahrain which saw a late safety car deny him another third place finish. His former teammate, Daniel Ricciardo won last season’s Chinese race, with the Dutchman finishing fifth.
Verstappen has become well known for his aggressive racing style and the Red Bull driver believes this is a good track for overtakes.
“The Chinese Grand Prix is always a good place to run because the track offers many possibilities for passing,” Verstappen said in an interview on f1only.fr.
“I hope to have an exciting race.

The first sector is really nice because you can use different trajectories in the long straight [first corner], which can turn out to be interesting during the race to try to stay out of the dirt.
“It's also a place on the track that can be very hard with the front left tire, so during the race, we will always try to use as little energy as possible in this turn.”
