Max Verstappen has reacted jokingly to the new livery that will be used by Red Bull at the Canadian Grand Prix. The liverly will not be used by the Dutchman and teammate Yuki Tsunoda in
Formula 1, but in the
F1 Academy, with Alisha Palmowski, the Red Bull driver in the F1 Academy,
sporting the special livery.
The car stands out enormously because of the many different colours in the design, designed by Canadian artist Kirsten McCrea and celebrates ‘female excellence in various sectors’, as part of a collaboration between Pepe Jeans and 1Password.
Palmowski was sitting alongside Verstappen in Canada, and she showed the four-time world champion the design of her car for this weekend. “You won't be missed, that's for sure,” Verstappen laughed in response after seeing the newly designed car.
The livery of Red Bull in the F1 Academy
Did Verstappen ever race faster with a special livery during a Formula 1 race weekend?
Palmowski went on to ask if Verstappen ever felt like he raced faster in a certain livery than in others.
“Well, honestly, I really liked the white livery, because I think the car just looks really clean with it, and then the red with it, I really like the red colour with it."
Verstappen has a thing for white, which he explained to the Red Bull driver from the F1 Academy: “For a long time, while I was go-karting, I often wore white gloves. Very nice. They get dirty quickly, but they always look cool in the pictures.”
Palmowski will be hoping the special livery will give her a boost around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as she currently sits fourth in the championship for her class. Maya Weug of the Netherlands is the current leader of the championship, holding just a one-point lead over Mercedes junior driver Doriane Pin.
